Motions
There are several different types of motions that can be filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and your local Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. The most common motion is the motion to reconsider. This motion is used when you believe the government made an error by making a mistake or they failed to consider a piece of evidence. This type of motion must be filed within the statutory period. The other common motion is a motion to reopen. This motion is used to reopen the case so new evidence can be submitted and added to the previous case.

These immigration motions are also called I-290B motions because you use form for I-290B to file the motions at the proper location.
